In 2015, Dr Peter Taylor graduated as a General Surgeon at the University of the Free State. He worked for 3 years in a general surgery private practice in Vanderbijlpark.
During this time, he also worked as a sessional trauma surgeon at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and attended multiple laparoscopic workshops. Dr Taylor obtained a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Strasbourg in France (2017).
He attended a Laparoscopic Hernia Repair course in Seville, Spain, presented by Bard Hernia University (2018). He has presented multiple times at local and national levels, including the Annual National Colorectal meeting and SAGES CPD evenings.
Dr Taylor went on to complete his Fellowship in Surgical Gastroenterology with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery at the University of Witwatersrand (2021). Dr Taylor recently joined the WDGMC Colorectal Unit and has a specific interest in early and advanced Colorectal Cancer.
